Reviewing a Fresh Batch of Weird MTB Products

Today, we dig into the mountain bike products bin. This time, we were sent some pretty weird stuff! Enjoy
I think this would be better for a road bike with two bottle holders. You really could put a CO2, an inflator, and a tool in here and on a road bike it wouldn't rattle around much. I'll use a gear strap.
Ram Mount We edited so much out of this review, but there was a lot of adjusting and fussing around to get it to stay. We followed the directions, and even tried using that foam pad. It's just not good for trails, but the mount does stay attached to the phone.
Go Magnets Mag Pad
The idea seems to be that it keeps the wall from getting scratched, which it does successfully. I suppose if you're in an Airbnb or something and wanted to be careful this could be useful.

Phone mounts are the accessory i really wouldn't cut corner in, sure it's expensive but quadlock just works flawlessly, and when i put a ~1000$ fragile item on something i want it secured. I'd rather pay more for the mount and have my phone stay intact.

The reason they made the gripster is some people take their kick stands off of their dirt bike for less weight and they might have to lean their bikes on a wall or something and when they do it can wear down the grips when you do it enough times.

Just FYI the x-grip has a blue million different clamps for bars and this is by far the worst available. You can get a rubber coated metal u clamp variant for a little more money that shouldn't fail in this fashion. we use them on ATVs, boats, and motorcycles without issue all the time. But I will be sticking to putting my phone in a hard case in my bag for more protection.

The RAM phone hoder comes with a ball mount, made from metal, that locks with the handlebars of the bicycle or a motorcycle. I use it on my bike and my motorbike and is amazing. The manufacturer says that it should hold the phone to up to 250km/h with the extra rubber spider. I took my phone holder on my trail bike and up to 90km/h with my motorbike and it held flawlesly. Those zipties were doomed from first second.

@TOPSPOT I didn't try any bikes honestly before buying this one.. I was for some reason just fixated on the Fuel. Now getting into it a bit more I really want to try some of the Santa Cruz, but the bike shop selection in my area is limited to Norco , Scott, & Trek from what I can tell, and availability for anything is terrible. And lucky for you about the hobbies.. LOL I am into too many for my own good.. Cars is the next most expensive. Luckily the Honda motorcycle in total since owning has probably costed me less than 4.5k, including reg and probably even getting a license.. Sounds like you're a much better rider than me. I just got back into it just a month ago from a breaking my wrist a few years ago MTBing. Was too confident taking my first drop in haha. but i missed it so much, and am really glad to be doing it again.

    3 dögum síðan

@fightmeirl and you could make it across the entire state up here gonna that fast for 15 minutes!!

    3 dögum síðan

@fightmeirl very nice! That's a sick bike, and I'd definitely consider a mullet ... I'm 5'7 so that 29" would be a bit too big I think, but I'm also riding bike parks up here so I prefer the ability over speed. Florida though no doubt I'd go mullet, if not 29" on both. And yeah the prices on bikes is absurd. I don't have any other hobbies or interests besides bikes. Not into cars, watches, fancy restaurants or expensive clothes. Just bikes, so it was easier to justify. My LBS sells Santa Cruz, Pivot and Kona, ended up getting the Mach 6 which will hopefully arrive in a couple weeks. I forget the exact model but I rented a Fuel when I went to Trestle Bike Park. Did everything possible on that bike 4 days in a row and it devoured everything I threw at it. BTW I'm 5'7 155lbs. Loved that bike, enjoy it!!

@TOPSPOT It was like 2am and was on the interstate. It was very dumb and I'd honestly probably never do it again, but it was some of the most fun I've EVER had lol.. I was inspired by Ghostrider's Uppsala run. I've always wanted to do something like that. Mine is an '08 stock. Just 2 teeth bigger on rear sprocket. The R6 is from what I've heard is more responsive and quicker, the CBR seems to be a little more comfortable for everyday riding. Also, that's funny you mention MTB's because I just got back into it, with my first 29er, considering going mullet because I am also a smaller guy.. I just got a Trek Fuel which cost me more than my CBR, lmao.
